Privacy Policy
Agent Awake does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything stays on your Mac, and the app never connects to the internet.
Overview
Agent Awake is a macOS menu bar application developed by Good Bar. It keeps your Mac awake while coding agents are working. We take your privacy seriously and built the app with privacy as a core principle.
Data Collection
Agent Awake does not collect any data. Specifically:
- No personal information is collected
- No usage analytics or telemetry is collected
- No data is shared with third parties
- No advertising identifiers are used
- No cookies or tracking technologies are used
How Agent Awake Detects Agents
To know when to keep your Mac awake, Agent Awake reads the list of programs currently running on your Mac and checks whether any are known coding agents (by the name of the program). This check happens entirely on your device, in memory. Nothing about your running programs is recorded, saved, or sent anywhere. The app only acts on whether a match is found right now.
Data Storage
Your settings are stored locally on your Mac using macOS UserDefaults and never leave your device. This includes which agents you've enabled, whether agent mode is on, your "keep display on" preference, and your launch-at-login preference.
Network Access
Agent Awake does not connect to the internet. The app makes no network requests and does not require an internet connection to function.
System Access
Agent Awake is distributed outside the Mac App Store and is signed and notarized by Apple. To do its job it reads the system process list (to detect running agents) and uses macOS power-management to prevent sleep. The optional "Keep awake with lid closed" feature asks for your administrator password to change a macOS power setting, and resets that setting when you turn the feature off. None of this involves collecting or transmitting data.
Children's Privacy
Agent Awake does not collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is safe for users of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Since Agent Awake does not collect data, we don't anticipate significant changes.
