Word Drop does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything stays on your Mac. No internet connection is required.
Overview
Word Drop is a macOS menu bar application developed by Good Bar. It helps you learn vocabulary in 12 languages by showing a new word in your menu bar. We take your privacy seriously and have built the app with privacy as a core principle.
Data Collection
Word Drop does not collect any personal data. Specifically:
- No personal information is collected
- No usage analytics or telemetry is collected
- No advertising identifiers are used
- No cookies or tracking technologies are used
- No learning progress or vocabulary data is transmitted
Data Storage
All app data is stored locally on your Mac using macOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device.
The following information is stored locally:
- Your selected language preference
- Your auto-rotate and interval settings
- Your word type filter preferences (nouns, verbs, adjectives)
- Your launch-at-login preference
Network Access
Word Drop does not connect to the internet. All vocabulary data (1,000 words per language across 12 languages) is bundled with the app. No network requests are made.
Third-Party Services
Word Drop does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or analytics frameworks.
App Sandbox
Word Drop runs within the macOS App Sandbox, which limits the app's access to system resources. The app only uses the menu bar and local preferences storage. No network, file system, or hardware access is required.
Children's Privacy
Word Drop does not collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is safe for users of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
